I’m starting a Postgraduate degree and a new job in the next two months, and I need a way I can keep track of appointments, meet deadlines for work and school, check email while commuting, etc

ok man! try this page:

Tell it first about your job or interest such as (I am a businessman, or I love photography etc..), then use the quick filters such as brand, style, camera etc..

Good luck!

My only knowledge is on smart phones, i know not how well they stack up against a dedicated PDA. A great starting point would be to find all the "smart phones" that your carrier provides, and then compare their features. i think you’ll find that they are all pretty similar. Most all carriers are going to have blackberries, which are quite popular in a professional setting. HTC is starting to offer a variety. and Nokia has a few wonderful handsets available.
Unless, of course, all these appointments and deadlines are just a clever excuse to get a fancy phone, then, and only then, should i bring up the iPhone and its many knockoffs. Steer clear of the trendy fashion statement and its many clones, or droids, if you’re truly out for business.

Without knowing your available carriers, I fear that is as detailed as I wish to get.
