Born into a musical family in 1974, Evgenia Terentieva began her musical education at the age of five. She studied piano, composition and singing at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov College and then at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire under Professors Elena Shishko (piano) and Vladislav Uspensky (composition).
In 1995 she gained a scholarship for post-graduate studies under Professor Emeritus James Gibb at the Guildhall Academy of Music & Drama in London, where she won the prestigious Concert Recital Diploma (Premier Prix). Evgenia has studied vocal with Richard Burgess-Ellis and Dame Kyra Vayne. In 1998 she won a “Queen’s Award” from the British Council to continue her post-graduate studies in UK.
Evgenia has also been a prizewinner of several international competitions (the latest being in Bulgaria where she was awarded first Prize in both Performance and Composition). Her recordings have been broadcast on the BBC World Service, on Wroclaw Radio, Welikopolsky TV ( Poland) and Sofia TV ( Bulgaria).
Miss Terentieva has established herself as a soloist and chamber musician on the concert platform of her native Russia as well as in the Netherlands , France , Spain , Poland , Bulgaria , South Africa and the UK. Her ability to communicate through her music has been evident throughout performances. She has given highly acclaimed recitals at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St. Martins-in-the-Field, St. James’s Piccadilly, Middle Temple Hall, St. Giles Cripplegate, European Academy for the Arts in London and the Barbican, as well as in the City of London , Westminster and Tudley Hall Festivals.
Evgenias repertoire is both substantial and wide-ranging, spanning almost three centuries of keyboard writing. Being a composer herself, she possesses a strong and intuitive sense of musical architecture, her recent interpretations of the Brahms 1 st Concerto, Scryabin’s and Rachmaninov’s 3d having been received with considerable acclaim. Her schedule for the current season includes a series of concerts in USA, Russia, UK, France, Poland and CD recordings.
In 2000 Evgenia has established an International Concert Agency, Musica Nova Productions to promote young promising artists from Eastern Europe and Great Britain , and in 2001 she became a founder of London International Music Festival “St. Petersburg’s Revelations”.
